Imperial is a really friendly club and is well known across Avon for being welcoming and engaging. Most of our squads are currently at full capacity, but we’re always looking for fresh new talent! If you’re interested in joining, read on and then email us at


We hold 3 trial sessions on Tuesday evenings in August (dates are confirmed at the start of August each year). All club members and prospective members must attend at least one – ideally multiple – trial sessions so that we can ensure you are placed in the correct squad. Selections will be made by our 2 coaches, as well as by some external coaches and experienced friends of the club.

Trials are nothing to be worried about – everyone is friendly and won’t take it too seriously. We encourage players to attend more than one trial session so that everyone gets enough time to shine and won’t be held back by having an ‘off night’!

Make sure you wear or bring:

  • Sportswear for playing indoors (it gets hot!)
  • A bottle of water
  • Short and smooth fingernails
  • No jewellery – including watches, Fitbits or piercings

Newcomers to the club will be able to attend their first 2 training sessions for free, to give them a chance to make sure they want to commit and be affiliated.

All our members pay £21 a month to be a part of Imperial Netball Club, to be paid via Direct Debit on the 1st of each month (all year around). The subs then pay for our coaching fees, court fees, equipment costs and of course any social expenses!

There will also be a one off affiliation fee due from new members, usually around £41.50. This is for affiliation to both the Avon League and England Netball. Affiliation to England Netball ensures that members are insured to play and train with Imperial.

Finally, a small fee of £2 is due from each member of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th teams at the start of each Saturday match played, which goes towards the teams’ umpiring fees. The 1st team pay their umpiring fees in advance, 3 times per season.
